The Pacifica School District will hold two separate public hearings on the proposed Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), with the Budget Overview for Parents cover page, and the proposed Budget for fiscal year 2025-26.

SUBJECT: Disposal of Obsolete Instructional Materials


The Pacifica School District has accumulated a significant number of instructional materials that are no longer in use due to the recent adoption of updated textbook series and curriculum resources. In accordance with Board Policy 3270 – Sale and Disposal of Books, Equipment and Supplies, materials that no longer meet the district’s instructional needs may be declared obsolete and prepared for proper disposal.

These newly adopted resources support current educational standards and better serve the learning needs of all our students. As such, here are the recommendations for textbooks and materials:

*Obsolete items must be stamped prior to disposal. This step ensures proper documentation and compliance with district procedures. All disposal of obsolete materials will be made after 30 days of this notice.

PACIFICA  SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEE PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILL BOARD VACANCY

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Pacifica School District is looking to fill a vacancy on its five-member Board of Education.  Following former trustee Nidhi Patel’s resignation from the Pacifica School Board, a vacancy has opened up on the Board.  On December 18, 2024, the Board announced its intention to begin the process of provisionally appointing an interested candidate to fill Ms. Patel’s vacated seat.

 

The Board invites interested candidates to submit an application to the District Office at 375 Reina Del Mar Ave., Pacifica, CA 94044 or via email to Superintendent Dr. Darnise Williams, to dwilliams@pacificasd.org by no later than 4:00 pm on January 14, 205.  Applications can be obtained from the District Office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on regular business days, or at the District’s website www.pacificasd.org.  California law requires that candidates meet the following minimum eligibility requirements to be considered for provisional appointment to the Board:

 

    • The candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
    • The candidate must be a citizen of California.
    • The candidate must be a resident of the Distict.
    • The candidate must be a registered voter.
    • The candidate must not be disqualified from holding a civil office.

  

The Board is responsible for ensuring the District operates effectively and efficiently.  Trustees commit a significant amount of time, energy, effort and dedication to ensure that the District can appropriately serve our community.  The Board intends to interview candidates and make the appointment at a special meeting to be scheduled.  For more information regarding the provisional appointment process, or the duties of a school board member, please contact the Superintendent’s Office.

Statement of Assurance for Public Textbook and

Instructional Materials Incentive Program

 

Education Code 60119 requires that the governing board of a school district shall take the following action:

           

The governing board shall hold a public hearing and make a determination as to whether each pupil in each school in the district has or will have, prior to the end of the fiscal year, sufficient textbooks, or instructional materials, or both; and shall adopt a resolution disclosing the determination.

 

 

 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

A public hearing determining if students have or will have sufficient textbooks 
will be held during the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees 

on Wednesday, September 18, 2023 at 6:20 p.m.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING QUALIFIED SPECIAL TAX

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Trustees (“Board”) of the Pacifica School District (“District”), at a Board meeting to be held on June 26, 2024, will hold a public hearing pursuant to Government Code section 50077 on the issue of calling an election on November 5, 2024, to levy a qualified special tax (“Parcel Tax”) on all parcels in the District’s boundaries. At the hearing, public input will be solicited concerning the proposed Parcel Tax measure.

The public hearing will begin at approximately 4:15 pm at Pacifica School District School, District Office, 375 Reina del Mar, Pacifica, California. Further information concerning this hearing and the proposed Parcel Tax may be obtained from Josie Peterson, at (650) 738-6600.
