SUBJECT: Disposal of Obsolete Instructional Materials


The Pacifica School District has accumulated a significant number of instructional materials that are no longer in use due to the recent adoption of updated textbook series and curriculum resources. In accordance with Board Policy 3270 – Sale and Disposal of Books, Equipment and Supplies, materials that no longer meet the district’s instructional needs may be declared obsolete and prepared for proper disposal.

These newly adopted resources support current educational standards and better serve the learning needs of all our students. As such, here are the recommendations for textbooks and materials:

*Obsolete items must be stamped prior to disposal. This step ensures proper documentation and compliance with district procedures. All disposal of obsolete materials will be made after 30 days of this notice.
