What is The Big Lift?

San Mateo County's The Big Lift is an initiative aimed at ensuring children are reading proficiently by third grade. It integrates high-quality preschool programs, summer learning opportunities, and family engagement to support early literacy. Emphasizing attendance and school readiness, The Big Lift seeks to close the achievement gap and boost academic performance. Through partnerships with schools, community organizations, and families, the program creates a strong foundation for lifelong learning. We are excited to announce that Pacifica School District will be partnering with The Big Lift for the next two years, bringing these valuable resources to our TK-3 students, families, and teachers.
