Strategic Plan

Mission Statement
The Pacifica School District, the community it serves, and the children they cherish, together prepare each child to meet the challenges of the future by providing an equitable, rigorous academic program which nurtures curiosity and inspires joy, confidence, and achievement in learning.

We believe that:

  • Everyone has responsibility for his/her own actions.
  • Trust and integrity are essential for successful relationships.
  • Every person has inherent value.
  • One person's actions can have an effect in the life of another.
  • Learning is essential for personal growth.
  • Working together we can build a strong community.

Curriculum

  • We will align and articulate curriculum, instruction, staff development and assessment to ensure a strong and innovative program for all students that is reviewed and revised on an ongoing basis.

Student Support Services

  • We will support student learning by developing, enhancing and accessing services that promote the well being of each student.

Libraries

  • We will develop and implement a district-wide program involving school libraries/media centers and explore partnerships with city libraries.

Visual & Performing Arts

  • We will implement a district-wide program for visual and performing arts.

Technology

  • We will expand and enhance the existing technology plan to enhance communications between staff, students and communities and to support the implementation for curriculum.

Marketing

  • We will communicate and promote the qualities of Pacifica School District in order to attract and retain families, staff and partnerships and to expand positive connections with the greater community.

Facilities

  • We will provide well-maintained, attractive facilities that are flexible and adaptable to meet both the present and future needs of the students, staff and community.

Funding Strategy

  • We will develop an adequate and stable revenue base that will enable the district to implement and further develop the Strategic Plan.

Student Wellness Plan

  • The purpose of this Wellness Plan is to ensure that the district’s curriculum and program encourage and promote healthy decision-making by students. The goal is to ensure that all aspects of the school environment (health education, physical education, nutrition services and school activities) support and reinforce health literacy.
