Twenty-six percent of SamTrans riders are 17 years old or younger. Clearly,
young people have discovered that SamTrans is the safe, convenient, affordable,
"green" way to get around. SamTrans serves 26 elementary schools,
20 middle schools, 20 high schools and six colleges throughout San Mateo

SamTrans Monthly passes are sold every month until the 9th. To receive a bus pass you must qualify for a free and reduced lunch. The cost is $22. If you are not part of the free and reduced lunch program, you must load the Youth Monthly Pass on Clipper. Please note that Youth Monthly passes on Clipper require an application submission and identification verification process.
For periodic bus riders, SamTrans Youth Tokens provide up to a 20 percent discount over cash fares on local routes.
